The accent vlog

Yes, I did it. Jumped on the ol' train and am doing the accent vlog.

Love you, peace, harmony and red wine, amen.

The instructions are to say these words:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught
And answer these questions:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you use to change the TV channel?

without even watching I am laughing! I am from Washington & my husband is from Georgia so I can just hear our different answers to those questions! They need to add "bag" for us Washingtonians to say.. :)

okay now I'm actually gonna watch it haha!

You are seriously awesome. I want to be just like you when I grow up. I hate when people say cara-mel. I say car-mel.

It is nice to put a voice to the face too because I feel like you would have a husky-ish but sexy woman's voice.

Yay! I speak correctly! Hahaha. I pronounce everything the exact same way as you, even “coupon.” Which I get crap for sometimes. Must be a Washington thing. I do say soda though. I blame that on living in Florida for a while in junior high. I’m totally with you on the Coke thing though!

wfayew said...[Reply]

Living in Mississippi I've always gotten picked on for calling it "soda". (I called it "pop" when I lived in Michigan but that didn't really transfer down South.) I either call it a "soda" or I just say the name of it. Which is usually "root beer".

But you'll find all of this out soon when I do my vlog!

Love it.

CALLIE said...[Reply]

Hilarious! Ok, so supposedly this whole "coke" debacle is a southern thing, but I've never heard it down here ha! If I want a sprite, I say sprite. Coke, I say coke.

I can't wait to do one of these. I was so surprised at how many things we actually say the same!! Yay!

Holly said...[Reply]

heyyy bitches! haha too funny!
you're so right about the "pop". We call it soda, but my mama calls it pop. Coke is a brand. duhhh.
Have a great weekend.

Rebecca said...[Reply]

When I lived in arizona we did the "coke" thing it was so weird. But where I lived all they had was coke, lemonade, and like water. No root beer, sprite, or any of that stuff so it was easier to understand

fav part of video though.. "heyyy bitches"

Lia Joy said...[Reply]

hahaha love this! I will admit that "coke" is definitely a southern thing. Maybe not everyone in the south call it a "coke", but here in Texas, the majority of people refer to it as "coke". Personally, it drives me crazy because I agree, "coke" is Coca-Cola, not a general term for all carbonated beverages. I call it soda.

And salmon drives me crazy. When I was little I had a speech impediment and I took speech therapy and know for a fact that the L is silent! :)

Katie said...[Reply]

Hilarious!! Im from Missouri and a lot of people pronounce "sure" incorrectly. They say "shore" It drives me NUTS!! We sure don't live by the sea shore.

Shug in Boots said...[Reply]

Yeah, variations in accents is one thing. But saLmon ?!? Just wrong. No matter where you're from, dontcha know? (after watching your vlog, I couldn't help myself) :D

Jeremy and Megan said...[Reply]

I agree with you! Makes me mad when people mispronounce words!!

Young and Fabulous said...[Reply]

ok i just watched!! lets see what we say differently..

aunt, route, caramel, crayON lol, pecan, cOOpon, syrup, pajamas.

WOWZA. We say different things hahaha you would probably get so annoyed with some stuff i say! haha

gym shoes are sneakers!!! hahah

your voice is the cutest ever though i love it!! :-)

xoxo

Amie said...[Reply]

You should do an accent vlog link up!

Amie said...[Reply]

I always call them potato bugs! Haha

Gaby said...[Reply]

this was amazing. I once said to my cousin can i have some pop, and she looked at me like i was crazy, she said "lolipop" she says soda apparently.

Morgan Bell said...[Reply]

I must admit.. I call it a coke. I live in a rural town in Kentucky and only the people that move into this area call it pop or soda. At a restaurant, we usually specify the type when ordering. "I would like a Sprite." If we are referring to soft drinks in general, we call it coke. "Hey babe, can you grab me a coke?" Old habits die hard!

Mrs. Pancakes said...[Reply]

Lol...in one of those that says routes as in roots because I'm from Canada and when I say salmon I announciate my "l! Heehee....have a great weekend!!

Melanie said...[Reply]

I just lol'd for the Hey Bitches. You said it like it was just nothing. Hilarious.

Sarah said...[Reply]

I have yet to do an accent vlog cause I'm still a little freaked about how I sound. I might try and get the courage to do one after I get my voice back. I've watched some other peoples and yours is my favorite so far! Thank you thank you thank you for correcting the people on Coke...(I call it soda), route, and coupon. I always get hounded for how I say coupon and it drives me nuts!! Thanks for sharing yours :)

Stephanie said...[Reply]

it's COKE! ;)

Heather said...[Reply]

Hilarious!!

Allison said...[Reply]

This was hilarious. So much so, I did my own today. Thanks for sharing!

Lindsey said...[Reply]

No you did not. How did I miss this?

Lindsey said...[Reply]

It's PECAN - like pah-con not PEE-can. I'm from Texas, my Grandparents had 100 acres of pecan trees most of my life and you say it wrong. I hate how you northerners mess up pecan.

It's called COKE. No it doesn't make sense but that is just how it is.

THAT is all. Toodles.

Michaela said...[Reply]

Haha! This is great :)

Ashley {hudson's happenings} said...[Reply]

Oh MY GOSH. I don't know if we can still be friends. I think I say everything the way you say it is wrong. ;)

PLEASE go watch my video on my blog. And prepare to laugh at my accent. And especially Will's accent. You will die.

LOVE! xoxo

Ashley said...[Reply]

oh my gosh i love this - you totally have a northern accent! so funny how you explained the proper way to say all these words ;) And I have to say, we say a lot of the words the same way....so cute! Can't wait to hear that voice in real life! yay!

XO, A

Sierra said...[Reply]

HEYYY BITCHES!

The whole coupon thing has been an on going argument in my home. He thinks its COOP-ON, I on the other hand speak proper English & refer to it as a CUE-PON.
Thanks you for only confirming even more how RIGHT I am :P
